Online Driver Education
90-Minute Parent/Student Presentation
All Virginia driver’s education students under the age of 18 and their parents or guardians are required by law to participate in a 90-minute Parent/Student Presentation as part of driver’s education. The Virginia DMV has approved this online course for all students under 18, except those living in Planning District 8, who must take this component in person. Check here to see if you live in Planning District 8.
Important Information
The 90-minute presentation must be provided by the same driver training school where you are completing the 30-hour driver’s education course.
This presentation includes safety information and videos and prepares parents and teens for the in-car/behind-the-wheel course as well as the required 45-hour component.
The program aims to equip parents to guide their teens through the learning years of driving, aiming to reduce teenage car crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
For comments or concerns about this course, contact the DMV’s toll-free number: 1-877-885-5790.
